Barry M Magnetic Polish

I don't usually review beauty products but I wanted to do a quick post about Barry M's new magnetic nail polish range.

It can be hard to find nail varnishes that don't chip or take forever to dry-especially when trying to avoid the inevitable duvet imprint before bed-but Barry M has always impressed me. As nail brands go it ticks all the boxes: dries quickly, is reasonably priced and stays on for far longer than brands such as Rimmel, 17 and Topshop's range.

The Magnetic polish comes in 4 colours; I chose the dark silver shade (£5).

As I always do I started with a No. 7 base coat to stop the colour staining my nails and then applied my first coat of Barry M.

Once the first coat was dry I applied a second, as instructed, then immediately placed the magnet over my nail to create the effect.

The lid doubles up as a magnet and has a raised ridged to rest on your finger. I found it took a fairly thick second coat or even a third to create the desired effect and the magnet has to be applied straight away unless you want the look to be very subtle.

I was actually really pleased with the finished result. If you want something a bit different but aren't a pro at nail art, this is the perfect alternative and three days on there isn't a chip in sight.

Barbour Coat & Studded Pumps

Barbour coats are often spotted doing the festival rounds on rainy weekends, or during the autumn months on celebrities such as Alexa Chung. As a lightweight smart/casual piece, the navy Barbour remains my staple autumn coat. I love the checkered lining and the oversized gold zip. The waxed version will set you back over £200 (Waxed Barbour) but the quilted versions are more modest in price (Quilted Barbour).

I have said it already and I'll say it again...still loving jumpers and collars *Post*; especially when teamed with a chunky collar-style necklace. For some similar looks click here.

My studded pumps are an old favourite but alas, they may need replacing soon due to over-wear. I can't count the number of times they have got soaked in the rain and I have endured a day of soggy feet. Studs are definitely here to stay for AW12 and the high street is still full of variations on the Studded Loafer Examples.

Biker Jacket & Leather Shorts

I bought this jacket in Zara a few weeks ago and it's become one of my wardrobe staples. Biker jackets are so versatile and add a bit of edge to any outfit from dresses to jeans. My shirt is a burgundy, velvet number that I got from a charity shop and I added the studs to the collar tips myself.

Zippy boots are still all over the highstreet and I am hoping these Topshop ones will get me through another winter! My shorts are also from Topshop....leather is still huge for AW12.

I am a lover of all things fur (faux of course). From coats to gilets to collars and snoods, my wardrobe is full of it. When it gets colder it's the only thing that keeps me warm and I am planning on wearing my gilets over army jackets and my biker when winter arrives. This fur collar is an old River Island piece that I was given a few christmases ago <3.

Fur Trim Parka

Wearing one of my fave coats...a khaki number with a fur collar. I bought this from a little vintage store near Brick Lane last winter and fell in love with it, so I am pleased to see that parka style coats and millitary styles are very much in for AW12. Statement collars are still huge and I love the detail on this white shirt, teamed with the gold necklace.

The bag I'm wearing looks similar to the Zara holdall that is so popular BUT cost a fraction of the price from Accessorize (£38). It comes in dark blue and black as well and I love the style and shoulder strap.
