Life Update & Gosh PR Travel Blogs

SO in between travelling around South America, instagramming my little heart out and catching up with friends and family post trip, I have still been carrying out my freelance duties and blogging about my experiences. With a bit of patience you will be able to read my posts on the Gosh PR website shortly: http://www.goshpr.co.uk/blog.

Aside from that, I have been embracing all things English: afternoon tea, the great outdoors and Brick Lane's amazing vintage shops. Luckily my Birthday is coming up soon so despite my sorry bank balance, I have been treated to a new pair of patent shoes from Office, more of my fave Topshop Mom jeans and I'm now on the hunt for some new heels. Finding the perfect pair of jeans can pose a serious challenge and with Topshop normally being my safe bet, I was keen to try on their new 'Girlfriend jeans'. Unfortunately I was not massively impressed with the fit and although I like the cropped style they were not a patch on Mom's!

In food news, I am embracing my new found love for cooking and in between freelancing, Chicken Neapolitan, Quorn lasagne and veggie chilli con carne have been on the menu. Music wise I can't stop playing Pharrell's new album G I R L-track 6 personal fave.

Fanpac Music Tee

So I was lucky enough to be gifted this fab music t-shirt by Fanpac last week which was perfect given that logo tees are huge at the moment. I opted for their Pink Floyd ladies' t shirt as I love the fade-out design and black is an easy colour to style, especially in winter.

The tee is fitted and although I'm wearing it here with my Topshop Mom jeans it also looks great with a pair of skinnies. I have finished the look with my biker jacket and accessorised with a fur collar and understated necklace.

Tartan Hues

Having been severely neglecting my blog I am now in a new job and back to my social media loving self!

I'm sure those of you reading this are well aware that tartan is the 'in' print for AW13. I actually had a bit of a crazy tartan haul a few weeks ago and am now the proud owner of an (ill fitting) vintage jacket, a pinafore dress, trousers and of course this staple scarf. No doubt I'll regret my buys in the weeks to come.

The scarf was a purchase from h and m after my visit to London Fashion Weekend for the Marks and Spencer fashion show. It was turning a bit colder and I wanted to inject a bit of colour into all my grey, black burgundy etc etc outfits. It's oversized so keeps me nice and warm and was under £10 #bargain.

Bomber Jacket Envy

As insignificant as it may seem, over the last couple of months I have found myself struck down by recurrent bouts of what I can only describe as 'bomber jacket envy'.

Whilst it seems the majority of the fashion conscious public have bagged themselves an enviable little number, I continue to struggle in my search for the bomber jacket that ticks all boxes. The beautiful high end offerings are out of my price bracket (think overdone embellishment and metallic stitching), the bargain equivalents are tacky and just when I think I am close to making a purchase... my size is not available.

I love the sports luxe look, living in my wedge trainers and embracing the retro jewellery that goes hand in hand. However until I close the bomber sized gap in my wardrobe, I will continue to be dissatisfied! Therefore over the last few days I made it my mission to scour the internet and put an end to my suffering. Whilst many of my favourites were predictably out of stock, I ended up making a purchase in the form of the Warehouse lace print number with a few other bits and bobs along the way. Mission accomplished!

Whistles £75-love this lightweight silk jacket with orchid print

Dorothy Perkins £35-bright florals for the summer

Warehouse £17-subtle lace print

Topshop £30-quilted metallic for the cooler days

The Perfect Pinafore

I underestimated how hard it would be to find my perfect pinafore dress. The one I wanted in Topshop was never in stock and a couple I ordered from Asos swamped me. However, my efforts were not in vain and once again trustee eBay came to my rescue. I settled for this John Jack number in light wash denim, cute and feminine. It will probably become my staple summer throw on over a striped top or shirt.

Initial Necklace

Despite my love of statement jewellery, for my birthday I was after something a little more understated.

Having had initial necklaces in the past, I wanted something similar but a little more sophisticated. When I stumbled across this Harry Rocks piece with personalised engraved disk, I was very excited. Having chosen the specifics, I opted for a matte, silver disk with gold engraving. The contrast of the two metallics together looks beautiful and I am very much an advocate of supporting small, up and coming businesses.

The product is hand engraved and comes in a pretty box. I would definitely recommend Harry Rocks for quality and unique jewellery.

A Spring Investment

For a light, spring coat the trench coat is the perfect purchase. Instantly chic and perfect for the transition between seasons, I am excited to start wearing mine.

Unfortunately my budget doesn't stretch to the Burberry original but I was extremely smug when I picked this one up in the Zara children's section. At a fraction of the adult price, being little definitely has its perks!

Although London continues to be ridiculously cold-hibernation seems to be the only option-trench coats can be worn year after year; the military look is timeless. Perfect your look with a slick of red lipstick and some heeled ankle boots...
